Helicopter in Guyana and Blimp no where to be found
Million-dollar heist
Saturday, March 1st 2008
Tyre Clinic 2000 Ltd owner, Dave Ramlogan, said
yesterday that the State's decision to send its police helicopter to
find criminals in Guyana is the reason a $1 million theft at his
business will likely go unsolved.
He said a helicopter crew would have easily spotted the convoy of
five flat bed trucks, the loot covered with yellow tarpaulin,
travelling through Central Trinidad.
Instead, when police radioed for the use of the helicopter, they
were told that the second aircraft-the Viper 1-was down for
maintenance.
There was also no helicopter to respond when a call came to track a
car with two men driving on the highway in Chaguanas, and armed with a
Galil sub machine gun and an AK-47 machine gun.
That car was not found up to late yesterday.
Ramlogan said: "We can't even
solve our own crimes and they send the helicopter to Guyana. I
understand they need help but only if we had an extra helicopter should
they have done this."
Yesterday's lead story in Guyana's Stabroek News was the arrival of the police helicopter from Trinidad.
The helicopter will be used to help track the killers involved in
two massacres in Lusignan and Bartica, in which 23 people were killed.
Yesterday, Ramlogan said insurance would only cover $50,000 of his losses.
Two thieves, he said, showed up at the business place Thursday
morning and held up his wife, Usha, at gunpoint. Four employees were
tied up. Seven more men, all with guns, joined in.
Usha Ramlogan was then forced to drive the forklift and load the
trucks with tyres, rims, pressure washers, compressors, tools and
generators. Two salesmen who came in during the robbery were also
grabbed and tied.
The gang also left with cell phones, keys, jewelry and money, and a newly-bought company van.
Within five minutes of the escape, one of the workers untied himself and helped the others.
Ramlogan said: "We told them the trucks would be easy to spot. I
mean, how hard would it be to find this? It's not like we have
sky-scrapers here. I asked for the blimp. No one could say."
He added: "We are trying to make an honest dollar, working hard. This just breaks you. It makes you want to leave."
Up the late yesterday, the crime remained unsolved.
Well this just about sums up the incompetence of the PNM led Government in fighting crime. Imagine the only working helicopter was sent to Guyana and the way this heist happened, it looks like these bandits were aware of that so they took full advantage of the situation. It does smell rather fishy cause how the hell these bandits could know that the other police helicopter was down for repairs unless they had some sort of inside information...either that or it was just dumb luck. As for the blimp, once again it has been proven to be another useless investment in the fight against crime, just like the pie *cough* eye in the sky, just like the useless Commissioner of Police and the useless Minister of National Security. All of them are useless investments. It's time we take back our country. All businessmen need to be equipped with firearms. These businessmen all need to hire armed security because the kind of crime taking place now is getting even more ridiculous. I also wouldn't blame these business men if they end up raising prices to offset the additional cost of security because the owner of Tyre Clinic lost about $1,000,000.00 in merchandise but his insurance only covers $50,000.00 so he is now basically running at a loss of $950,000.00 and only 2 months have gone in the year, so basically this man's business has gone to the dogs.
What is Patrick Manning doing about this you ask? Well from the response that he gave to this, it looks to me like not one fock! This news article just proves once again, without a shadow of a doubt, that the PNM has no clue about running a country and protecting its citizens. All that talk about Vision 20 20 is just WANTON FOCKERY if you ask me because all I am seeing is Manning making his life nicer by building a new mansion for himself and riding Bombardier jets, while the hard working citizens have to suffer at the hands of the "legacy" that was left behind by Dr. Eric Williams and the on going saga that continues under the PNM and Patrick Manning.
